Fookes Software has released Album Express v. 3.2, a flexible, easy-to-use Windows 95/98/2000/NT4/Me/XP program that lets you create picture albums on your computer or on the Internet. Using a wizard-like interface, Album Express creates Web pages that you can view locally or on the Web, using your favorite Web browser.

Sample templates give you instant access to a whole range of page styles. You can create a picture slide show, or use words or thumbnails to navigate from image to image and page to page. Using its search template, the program will create an index of all of the pictures' titles, and let you visit selected Web pages by choosing picture names from a pick-list or by doing keyword searches. A speedy thumbnail image generator even lets you create a visual index for easy browsing through large collections. Album Express also makes light work of building a picture catalog that tells you each image's filename, pixel dimensions and file size.

Novice users will enjoy being able to create Web pages containing vacation pictures, graduation photos, wedding memories or a family album in just minutes. After selecting your images and choosing a style template, a single button click creates the Web pages. If you want to share your albums with the rest of the world, a second click uploads your pages and images to your site on the Internet. You'll also appreciate handy tools that let you preview pictures, resize them automatically to fit your pages, and browse background images.

Power users will enjoy the ability to take total control over the look and feel of the Web pages that Album Express creates. You can modify any of the sample templates, or create your own using the built-in scripting language. Features at your fingertips include page titles, descriptions, and searchable keywords, along with text colors and the choice of background images for your albums. You can include picture descriptions generated by the popular ACDSee image viewer, set filters to mask file selections, and use slider controls to adjust the size, quality and sharpness of thumbnail images.
