Charmey, Switzerland -- 16 November 2015 – Fookes Software Ltd today announced the publication of a column by marketing and communications manager Katie Cullen Montgomerie on Legal IT Professionals. The column focuses on the potential importance of proprietary metadata, such as email status information, in e-discovery as it provides context when looking at email in legal proceedings.

“Email status information identifies, for example, whether an email was opened, unread, forwarded or flagged,” said Cullen Montgomerie. “As this information is stored as part of the email’s metadata, and can be exported by software applications, status information from metadata can be assumed to be more reliable than read receipts.”

The column is currently the most-read column on Legal IT Professionals.
